• What is a subscription?

    An Autonomy subscription is a flexible vehicle-use agreement that lets you get a car without buying or leasing. We own the car. You pay monthly and drive it for as long as you like, then give it back when you’re done.

  • Why a subscription?

    This is a radically new way to get your next vehicle.

    You’re NOT buying a car, which makes everything easier. You don’t need to hassle with negotiation, title, or registration, or worry about the small stuff, like routine maintenance.  

    We are NOT lending you money, which makes the contract simple and fully digital. You can even pay for your subscription entirely with your credit card.

  • How do I subscribe?

    Subscribe to a Tesla Model 3 in three easy steps:

    1. Reserve yours with a fully refundable $100 deposit. 
    2. Set up your account with a valid driver’s license and a digital form of payment to determine eligibility. 
    3. Schedule pickup or delivery.
  • Is my security deposit refundable?

    In a word, yes. Your Tesla Model 3 subscription requires a total security deposit of $500. It’s split into two payments and is completely refundable if you change your mind, or at the end of your subscription if no other amounts are due.

    The first $100 is the reservation deposit, which secures your place in line. Then, once you’ve been qualified, the remaining $400 holds your vehicle and lets you schedule a pickup.

  • What if I change my mind?

    Autonomy is the freedom to choose what’s best for you. That’s literally why we started this company. If you decide you’re no longer interested in a Tesla Model 3 before you activate your subscription, we’ll refund your entire security deposit, no questions asked. Simply give us a call at 1-800-AUTONOMY to cancel your reservation. Once issued, the refund will typically take 5 to 7 business days to process.

  • Why do I have to make a start payment?

    Think of it like a down payment (commonly called a “cap. cost reduction” in traditional leases), which is one of the factors that helps lower the cost of your monthly payment. Choose the combination of start payment and monthly payment that are right for you; it’s all customizable.

  • Does Autonomy offer insurance coverage for my subscription vehicle?

    You are currently required to provide your own insurance for your Autonomy vehicle. Your policy must meet the following criteria:

    • Bodily injury liability coverage with at least the minimum limits as required by law.
    • Property damage liability coverage with at least the minimum limits as required by law.
    • Collision and comprehensive coverage for the full value of the Autonomy vehicle (maximum deductible of $1,000).
    • Uninsured motorist coverage as required by law.

    We will verify the insurance coverage you provide during the activation of your subscription. If your insurance coverage expires or is incorrect, you will have 30 days to send new proof of coverage. Without coverage, your subscription could be terminated. 

  • What routine maintenance is covered?

    Your Tesla EV subscription includes routine maintenance performed by authorized Autonomy service providers, like tire rotations, cabin air filter replacements, and component checkups. 

    As an electric vehicle, the Tesla Model 3 doesn’t require traditional oil changes, emission checks, fuel filters, or spark plug replacements. And thanks to regenerative braking that returns energy to the battery, even brake pad replacements are uncommon.

  • Is there a mileage limit?

    Your Autonomy subscription includes 10,000 miles per year, or roughly 833 miles per month. So, if you subscribe to a car for three months, your mileage allowance is 2,500 miles. Of course, if you need to drive more, that’s OK. Additional mileage will cost just $0.25 per mile. 

  • How do I pay for my Autonomy subscription?

    Making your monthly payments is easy with autopay. You’ll provide a credit card or a checking account during activation, and your payment will be automatically deducted each month on the same date that your subscription started. Some subscribers will also be asked to provide a backup payment method as well, in case there’s an issue with their auto payment.

  • Are these used cars?

    Because Autonomy owns and registers the vehicles, they are classified as used cars. But most of our vehicles have not had previous owners and typically come with fewer than 500 miles. All our subscription vehicles are covered under warranty.

  • How long is the subscription?

    Keep your Autonomy vehicle for a minimum of 90 days. After that, drive it for as long as you like, or return it by giving us a 28-day advance notice.

  • What’s included in an Autonomy subscription?

    Your Tesla Model 3 subscription includes:

    •     Vehicle registration.
    •     10,000 miles per year.
    •     Routine maintenance.
    •     Roadside assistance.
  • Is Autonomy available in my state?

  • Is the Autonomy app available on my Android device?

  • What’s the catch?
